TLDR: Buy this mat if you're tired of bath time fits over hair wash days! I bought this to help with my niece's hair -- she can't stand hair wash time because of how many times she has gotten shampoo in her eyes. At the end of her first wash day with this mat, she sat up and said. "It's over? hey! you didn't get any shampoo in my eyes!" Solid review !!! With this mat, I'm branding hair wash days as "spa days" complete with low lighting and spa music. If you're washing younger children's hair, recommend having them wear a poncho. They might decide to sit up randomly and suddenly they've dripped water on the mat. User error to be expected with youngins :)

My daughters love this so much! We previously had one of those hard plastic suction cup hair trays with a small cushion insert, and I was constantly hearing about neck pain. Love the pillow, but there is one flaw, water runs down the back of the pillow and down my daughters back and there is nothing to absorb the water so my daughter ends up with a wet back at the end of the wash. She's autistic and this sensation is too much for her to handle. It's an easy fix, I just add a towel to the pillow and that helps keep her dry. Please consider improving the design, I see others posting photos of a towel on the pillow to absorb the water. Otherwise, I love the pillow and we use it every wash day!

My daughter has long thick, curly and wavy hair. She has always loved getting her hair done. She would sport a new style daily. With each year, her has had gotten longer and thicker. Washing has become exhausting. None of the fancy hair washing mats have lived up to the hype. We’ve done kitchen, sink, bathtub, shower independently and shower together. The only thing that is not horrible is showering/washing our hair together and that is not a great experience for me. I need my alone time and one of us ends us getting cold. My daughter has sensory issues, so bathing and hair washing are huge triggers for her. We have tried other hair washing mats before, they worked well when she was smaller, but not so much now that she is bigger. The pillow is nice but I don’t believe it is worth all the money that I paid. To wash the back of the head, water gets on their shirt if they are laying comfortably. For the water to not get on their shirt you have to hang their heads way off the pillow.

After reading about the thoughtfulness put into the ergonomically designed shampoo pillow, pride in being Black-owned, and affordable price point I was sold. I ran over to the website to make my order. There was an issue with my initial order, but I was provided with excellent customer service and a quick resolution. My three year old toddler hasn't had any wash day blues since using this product. She enjoys being able to pass the time while watching her favorite shows on the tablet holder, and not worrying about water running into her eyes.
